Cameron Gessner has officially wrapped up the season with all three available championships under his belt. Cameron had already secured the Comp Cams Sprintcar Series Championship before last night’s event even started, but had to do well last night to hang on to the MSAQ Club Championship and the illustrious Car Owners Championship for Paul Gislingham and his Energy Motorsports team. Cameron held a strong lead in all championships going into last night’s racing, but was determined to finish the season not only atop the championships podium, but also get yet another Comp Cams Round victory to his name. Cameron won last night’s 25-lap A-Main from Andrew Scheuerle and Darren Jensen completing the top three. ... Read

Brisbane International Speedway last night hosted the re-running of round 8 of the Comp Cams Sprintcar Series after the original attempt in early March was abandoned prior to the feature events due to persistent rain. Peter Thorley took the win last night in a remarkable drive from the B-Main with (Vic) Grant Anderson and (NSW) David Doherty joining him on the podium. Series leader Cameron Gessner was fourth with Andrew Scheuerle rounding out the top five to stay in the championship running on a night where double points were on the line. ... Read

Comp Cams Round 11 at Brisbane International Speedway last night saw Andrew Scheuerle take the feature race win from Ian Loudoun (NSW) and Darren Jensen with team-mates Todd Wanless and Peter Thorley rounding out the top five. It also saw both Melissa Boyes and Niall Chandler taken to the PA hospital after separate incidents in the B-Main, while earlier in the night Adam MacKenzie and Aaron Finglas both had massive flips that ended their night of racing. ... Thirty Sprintcars converged on Toowoomba’s Charlton Raceway for the first Annual Crispy Memorial Classic, run in memory of the late Greg ‘Crispy’ McLennan who passed away back in February.
